All Consumed, 2007

Each day is filled with an unavoidable array of choice. For many there is an abundance of food, clothing, shelter, media, communications, and relationships. We select, consume and reconstitute evidence of our hunger for these things. The detritus of our consumption illustrates a personal and public record of desire, loss, hope and fear.

The photographs in this exhibition present objects that are juxtaposed to blur the line between what we might own alone with that which is shared. The work suggests that the process of consumption produces a rubric of emboldened objects. Overt or oblique, an order of meaning may be found in what is commonly viewed as chaotic. It is a meditation on the investment of consumption.
